Introduction

Gangs have been around for several decades, connecting groups of people as a community and evoking hatred in their eyes. Blood thurst being passed down from veterans of gangs to the recruits, revenge being so washed down that the members do not even remember why they started fighting with other gangs. Gangs brainwash young recruits to believe they could be rich, have a better life, and be safe in the gang; but its all a lie. Our social Justice Project revolves around gangs and how people are brought into this lifestyle. Is it the communites fault that gangs prevail among young teens, or is it the individuals fault? How can we help as a community to suppress gang membership?

Prayer for the Troubled

Dear Lord,

Please help those who have found themselves in a gang or in a group where their opinions have no value. For they too deserve to be heard. Please help the victims of gang violence by forgiving their past deed whether they died innocently or not. God, help us understand that even if we turn our back towards You, we still know that You will always be there for us. In our time of loneliness, please comfort us and believe that we will overcome our mistakes and forgive those who wronged us. Let us move on from the disappointment that those close to us created. Let us realize that there are others who will treat us with the respect and love we deserve.



Let us pray through Christ our Lord.
